Minnie Jo Moore, 89, of Shinnston, WV passed away on January 15, 2026 at Eagle Point Healthcare Center. She was born July 30, 1937 in Harrison County, a daughter of the late Wilford Goff and Blanche Matheny. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Rev. Stanely Moore.  

Minnie is also preceded in death by two of her sons, Rex and Roy Moore; siblings Virginia “Gracie” Goff Straight, William Goff, Martha “Gail” Goff Shingleton, Milton Goff, Mamie “Mae” Goff Stark, Wilford Rosco “Jack” Goff Jr., Sarah Lee Goff Dawson, Milford “Jean” Goff Harris, Raymond “Max” Goff, Nathan “Rex” Goff, Ernest “Little Guy” Goff; and son-in-law Gail Carson.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Moore (Mindy); daughters Ruby Elizabeth Carson and Olive Utt; sister Juanita Fortney; grandchildren Nicholas and Douglas Moore, Christy Carson, Philip Carson, Raymond Moore, Jeremy Moore, Beth Russell, Amy Utt, and Katy Moore; thirteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Minnie was employed by A. J’s Diner and Shinnston day care as a cook. She also worked as a care giver for the elderly. She was an active member of the Pine Bluff United Methodist Church where she held the role of United Methodist Women’s President. Minnie was also a member of the Pine Bluff CEOS.

In her spare time, Minnie enjoyed baking pies at the CEOS, cooking, camping, watching westerns, word puzzles, reading, quilting, cooking and sewing. She also loved her three cats, Snowball, Tinkerbell, and Fancy.

Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home on Sunday, January 18, 2026 from 2:00PM-8:00PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 11:00AM with Rev. Elizabeth Carson officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
