Wilma Lee Edwards Simons, 80, of Flemington, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, at her son Ronnie and his fiancé Vicki’s residence. She was born in Flemington on March 14, 1945, a daughter of the late Faye and Orpha (Reed) Edwards.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ronnie Glenn Simons, on September 23, 2014.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie Glenn “Pete” Simons, Jr. and his fiancée Vicki of Flemington; her daughter, Ronja Lee Coffman and her husband Fred of Bridgeport; three grandchildren, Isaiah Linch of Bridgeport; Amanda Linn Lang and her husband Troy of TN; and Andrea Leigh Simons of Fairmont; her 11 great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Ramsey and her mother Michelle Ramsey; Colton Linch and Ayden Linch and their mother Samantha Riley; Hunter Varner and Gavin Varner and their mother Ashley Varner; Landon Kelley; Raylin Harmon; Maddox Lang; Amelia Lang; Kinsley Daft; and Paxtin Linch; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Aaron Linch. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by four sisters, Nellie Crislip; Anna Marie Marks; Helen Louise Howell, and Emma Jean Trader Shoulders; and four brothers, Bernard Faye Edwards; Clyde William Edwards; Robert Lee Edwards; and Ronald Glenn Edwards.
Wilma’s life was filled with the joy of her family. She enjoyed sitting on the porch with her dogs Bandit and Cuddles, watching the wildlife. She especially liked watching the kids play in the pool.
The family would like to thank Ronnie and Vicki for taking Wilma into their home since May; and a special thanks to her caregivers, Adrian Williams and Becky Shreves.
Family will receive friends at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 12 Noon – 1 p.m., where services will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Scott Villers presiding. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery.
