Rick Antonio “LG” Carr, 25, of North View, West Virginia, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026. He was born on November 16, 2000.
Rick was the beloved son of Rick and Lisa (Ashcraft) Carr. He was a cherished partner to Magni Matheny and, above all, a loving and devoted father to their son, Vitally Spino Carr. Being a father was one of the greatest joys of Rick’s life, and he treasured the time he spent with his son.
Rick is also survived by his siblings, Mason Spino of Fairmont, Morgan Spino of Maryland, and Michael Spino of Clarksburg; numerous extended family members and friends; and his beloved pets.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth and Patricia Ashcraft of Bridgeport, and his brother, Brandon Spino.
Rick attended schools in Taylor County before earning his high school diploma through the Mountaineer Challenge Academy in Preston County.
Rick was a hardworking man who took pride in his work. He worked for Erskine’s Construction and Seal Coat for six and a half years, where he served as a Pave Foreman. His dedication, skills, and willingness to work hard were qualities that defined him.
Rick loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a fun-loving personality and loved to clown around, joke, and make the people around him laugh. He had a huge heart and was always willing to lend a hand. Rick was a natural handyman who could be counted on whenever someone needed help, and he never hesitated to do what he could for others.
He had many interests and passions that brought him joy. Rick loved the outdoors, especially camping and swimming. He enjoyed riding ATVs, burning rubber, and spending time doing anything that gave him a little adventure. He was an avid video gamer and enjoyed collecting gaming systems. He also loved listening to old soul music and watching movies, especially Marvel and DC Comics, with Spider-Man being his favorite.
Rick was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed playing chess and guitar, target shooting, and was a very good cook. He especially loved extremely spicy food and was never afraid to turn up the heat. His many hobbies reflected his adventurous, playful, and creative spirit.
Rick will be remembered for his big heart, his willingness to help others, his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, his adventurous spirit, and the love he had for his family and friends. His laughter, kindness, and unforgettable personality will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Though his time here was far too short, Rick left behind a lifetime of memories that will remain in the hearts of those who loved him. His greatest legacy will be the love he gave to his family and, most especially, to his son, Vitally. Rick’s memory will live on through the people he loved, the lives he touched, and the many stories that will continue to be shared about him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to a local charity of your choice, or, for those who wish, consider helping Rick’s partner, Magni Matheny, and their son, Vitally Spino Carr, in Rick’s memory.
A gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. A celebration of life service will follow at 6 p.m. with Reverend Matthew Paugh presiding.
