Betty Jean (Allen) McIntire, 88, of Bingamon, West Virginia, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at her residence.
In addition to her parents Frank and Ocie Walmsley Allen of Bingamon, Betty is preceded in death by her husband Walter McIntire, her son Thomas McIntire (Kimberly Horner) of Wheeling, her sister Louise Allen Tesch, and brothers Albert, Bill, and Newt Allen, as well as her beloved Maltese Kimmie. Betty is survived by Kimberly Horner (Centreville, VA), a sister-in-law, Alma Allen (Worthington), and a very special niece, Carolyn Benyei (Ocala, Florida), and nephews, Stephen Allen (Nashville, Tennessee), and David McIntire (Bingamon), among many others.
Betty worked many years helping her husband run his service station and towing business, Walt’s Inc., that served the community in Shinnston for 55 years. Betty enjoyed sewing and crafts, but she mostly loved the outdoors, working in the yard and garden and tending to her flowers, especially tulips. She was a faithful member of the Swisher Hill Union Mission Church. Betty’s family would like to thank WVU Medicine Hospice for their wonderful and loving care.
Friends and family will be received at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 10am until noon on Saturday. Immediately following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 12:15pm at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Chad Weaver officiating.
