Harry “Delmas” Marks, Sr., 76, of Bridgeport, Stone Coal community, passed away at his residence on Monday, May 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born at home in Stone Coal on February 15, 1950, a son of the late Harry and Anna Marie Edwards Marks.
He is survived by his sons, Harry Delmas “Delmie” Marks, Jr. and his wife Kristi Marks of Stone Coal; his son, James William Corbin; his grandson, Michael “Shea” Marks and his fiancé Courtney, of Fairmont; his granddaughters, Kylie Marie Marks and fiancé Zack, of Philippi; Jenna Gabrielle Corbin of TN; Jamie Isabella Corbin of MI; and Malina Jade Corbin of Clarksburg; his great-grandson, Kacey Jay McCauley; and great-granddaughter, Gemma Paige Metz. His brothers, Clyde William Marks of Clarksburg; Timothy Paul Marks and his wife Peggie of Junior; his sisters, Anna Lyvone Cunningham and her husband Frank of Bridgeport; Mary Frances Flowers and her husband Ed of Bridgeport; Judy Paulette Miller of Shinnston; and Carolyn Louise Marks of Shinnston; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins complete his family.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd Fay Marks, Rickie Allen Marks; and Roy Lee Marks; and a sister, Patty June Marks.
Delmas was last employed as a coal truck driver for Walter R. Jones Trucking. He was an avid fisherman and classic car lover. He spent most of his time in his garage restoring classic cars including his 1967 Ford Mustang and 1957 Ford Fairlane 500; which were his pride and joys. He loved attending car shows and won many awards at the shows he attended. He also enjoyed sitting in his lazy boy watching westerns and loved a good hot dog. He was happiest when around family, sitting on a river bank, and when he was in his garage. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 10 a.m. – 12 Noon, where services will be held at 12 Noon with Reverend Lonnie Linn presiding. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery.
