Geneva Wilfong, 99, of Rosemont, passed away Sunday May 10, 2026, in Taylor Healthcare Center. She was born in Philippi on September 21, 1926, a daughter of the late Bird and Delphi (Tayor) Trimble.
In August 1948, she married Raymond Wilfong when they were both 21 years old. He passed away on December 26, 1969.
She is survived by 6 children, Tommy Wilfong of Maryland; Gary Wilfong and his wife Katrina of Bridgeport; James Wilfong of Rosemont; Nancy Seese and her companion Mark Wilson of Flemington; Bruce Wilfong and his wife Kathy of Rosemont; and Pamela Harman and her husband David of Flemington; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Christopher Gene Wilfong and Karen Wilfong, and a great-grandson, Thomas Raymond Wilfong. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by her brother, Robert Trimble and his wife Louise; and two sisters, Juanita Wilfong and her husband George; and Lorinda Trimble, who passed away as a child.
Geneva enjoyed baking, listening to the radio and doing crosswords. She also enjoyed reading the paper, playing checkers and she made the best fried chicken you ever ate. She loved working in the garden and she loved her animals. But most of all, she enjoyed her family and loved seeing them all of the time.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Wednesday from 3 – 8 p.m., where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2026, with Pastor Gary Devart and Pastor Austin Lynch presiding. Interment will follow in Flemington I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
