Judith “Judy” Rogers Harbert died peacefully and was received into heaven on Saturday, April 11, 2026. In her words, she “met many dogs and horses on the rainbow bridge.” Judy loved to talk and share stories about her life growing up and her many experiences.

She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Dorothy (Nieman) Miller, brother Carl Miller, husband Dave Rogers, Husband Max Harbert, son Scott Rogers (Sarah), and daughter Rebecca (Rogers) Osborne (Phil).

Celebrating her life are two brothers, Barry and Dave, two sons, Tom (Lisa) and Matt (Katie), eight grandchildren, Lauren, Elizabeth, Leah, Parker, Wilson, Emma, Rowan, and Penny; and three great grandchildren, Sutton, Hattie, and Teddy along with many extended family members and wonderful friends.

Judy’s strong Christian faith and service to family and friends were her top priorities. She raised four Christian children, was a long-time active member of the Lumberport Baptist Church and served the Jones Run and Lumberport communities in many ways. She served many roles with the Jones Run Women’s Club, horse and miniature horse organizations, and 4H. She loved working with the horses, horse people and trail riding – especially with her grandchildren.

Though her early training was in nursing, she obtained her teacher degree at Fairmont State College and taught in the Shinnston, Wallace, and Lumberport schools -impacting the lives of many young minds.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter, 4H Club, or high school FFA.

Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 11:00AM-1:30PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:30PM.
