Richard Kent Walker, of Lumberport, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, February 22, 2026. He was born in Clarksburg on April 30, 1950, the eldest child of the late Robert Claude and Virginia May (Cheuvront) Walker.
He is survived by his children, Joshua Kent Walker and his wife Susan, of Pittsburgh, PA; and Lisha Marie Walker of Stonewood. Ethan David Bennett is his only very special grandchild. Ethan loved and worried about his “Grand Pappy” a lot.
Along with his children, he is also survived by three siblings, Jane (Walker) Yanero and husband Al of Fairmont; Roger Walker and his wife Debbie of Mooresville, NC; and Randy Walker of West Milford.
Richard is also survived by nieces, Jennifer Walker and Elly Lantz; and nephews, Kenny Lantz and his wife; Eric Walker; and Scott Walker and his wife. His is also survived by great-nieces Rokzen Franklin, Kenadi Lantz, Lucy Walker, and Maya Walker; along with great-nephews Creedon Jenkins and Hudson Lantz.
Richard was a 1968 graduate from the former Roosevelt-Wilson High School. He spent several years living in Stonewood and was known by many. After high school, he became part of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 152. He worked as a pipefitter and welder.
He loved ramp dinners, old cars especially Scouts, and car races. Back in his younger days, he traveled all over to race his own Sprint car he had built. He loved the Daytona 500 for many years too.
Richard will be sadly missed.
