Dorothea “Dotty” Weaver

Dorothea Jean “Dotty” Crawford Weaver, 78, of Bridgeport, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Clarksburg on June 7, 1948, a daughter of the late William D. “Bill” and Betty (Wyatt) Crawford.
She is survived by her son, Warren Weaver and his wife Olivia of Fairmont; her grandchildren, Logan and Annie; her brother, David Crawford II and his wife Vicki of Bridgeport; her sister, Elizabeth “Libby” Bowman of Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Dotty attended All Saints Grade School and graduated from Bridgeport High School. She retired from the Harrison County Board of Education, having been a secretary in the Central Office and Bridgeport High School. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, and Daughters of the American Revolution, Daniel Davisson Chapter.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, where services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tom Horne presiding. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
