Debra Kay Blaniar Hood, 70, of Lumberport, passed away on Saturday, Aug 15, 2026 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. She was born in Clarksburg, May 6, 1956, a daughter of the late Frank Blaniar and the late Ethel Mae Stout Ayers.
She is survived by her long-time fiance, Donald Eugene Hawkins, Lumberport; three children, Timothy Hood, Lumberport, Brian Hood, Lumberport, Tracy Cottrill and her husband Brad, Cambria; grandchildren, Tyler Hood, Matthew Cottrill, Brayden Hood, Megan Cottrill, Alivia Hood, Madison Cottrill; one great grandson, James Cottrill; her siblings, Roger Blaniar and his wife Mary, Shinnston, Linda Lapoe and her husband Allen, OH, Clarence Ayers, Lumberport; several nieces, nephews, and extended family; and her puppy, Peanut.
Debra was also preceded in death by her siblings: Janet Dawson, Paullette Audia, Ronald Blaniar, Richard Blaniar, Mike Blaniar, and Mary Ellen Ayers; and her dogs, CoCo and Candy.
Debra was a homemaker who took care of her family. She was an animal lover, especially cats. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be greatly missed by all.
