Clifford “Willie” Farris

Clifford William (Willie) Farris, 65, of Bridgeport, went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 3, 2026, at United Hospital Center with family and friends by his side.
He was born in Clarksburg on June 21, 1961, a son of Vernie Farris, who survives in Brownton, and the late Homer Farris.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debra (Loudin) Farris, whom he married June 26, 1983.
He is also survived by two daughters, Holly Jones of Bridgeport; Jessica Farris of Fairmont; and his grandson, Austin Jones. Two brothers, Russell Farris and his wife Francis of Brownton; Raymond Farris and his wife Mary of Flemington; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two he referred to as his brothers, John Montgomery of Brownton and Jimmy Loudin of Bridgeport, complete his family.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Jones; and an infant brother, Homer Farris.
Willie was a 1980 graduate of Philip Barbour High School. He had many jobs, the last being with Industrial Resources in Fairmont as a fabricator.
The many things he enjoyed included taking care of his dogs, Pixie and Bullet, riding with them while mowing or staying by his side during his illness. He loved working on Mark’s farm with Jimmy and Austin. When not there taking care of his fruit trees and sharing with the neighbors, he spent many hours teaching Austin hunting and fishing skills.
With his family, he enjoyed going to yard sales, always looking for sales at Lowes, Home Depot or Menards; taking vacations with the family, playing cards, and camping. The one thing the kids loved about Uncle Willie was he always had candy or popsicles, and would give as many as they were allowed. He was a member of Hepzibah Baptist Church, Taylor County.
The family appreciated the loving care and help family members gave Willie during his illness.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 2 – 8 p.m., where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, with Adam Grogg and Pastor Roger Fleming presiding. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery, Belington. A dinner at Mt. Vernon Church, Brownton, will follow the interment.
