Violet Barker Hall, 92, of Lumberport passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026 at her residence.  She was born June 22, 1934 at Dola, a daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn Barker.  Her husband Gary preceded her in death on January 15, 2007.

Violet was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles ”Bud” Barker; four sisters, Ina Lee Crouser, Lucille Swiger, Betty Carroll, and Wilma Jean Warsing.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, June Barker of Lumberport; special nieces Penny and Stephanie Barker-Fleece; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

She lived in Cleveland, Ohio for over 20 years.  She attended a beauty academy and worked as a beautician.  She also attended business college in Cleveland and worked in a furniture store for 18 years.  After returning home, she worked for Jack’s Friendly in Clarksburg.  She was caregiver for several family members before their death.

Her hobbies over the years were serving and making crafts.  She loved working outdoors.

She was a member of Lumberport United Methodist Church.

Per Violet’s request, a graveside funeral service will be Monday, July 20, 2026 at 11:00AM. Interment will be held at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Sam Cale officiating.
