Dale Henry Taylor, 83, of Brushy Fork Community, Bridgeport, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Clarksburg on August 26, 1942, a son of the late Walter Glenn and Opal Dolly (Crawford) Taylor.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Norma (Amtower) Taylor, whom he married on April 3, 1965.
Also surviving are two children, Anissa Davis and her husband Mike of Richmond, VA; and Jason Taylor of Masontown, PA; his daughter-in-law, Roberta Taylor; his grandchildren, Gabriella Nicole Taylor, and Jaylyn Smith and his wife Molly; and his great-grandchildren, Ezekial, Tiana, and Emelia Smith. A brother, James Taylor and his wife Cheryl of Belington; 2 nephews, Travis Taylor and his wife Sarah; Derek Taylor and his wife Carla; and great-nieces, Lindsey, Lauren, Addison and Mckinsey; his brothers-in-law, William Amtower and his wife Carol; and Gerald Amtower; and his sisters-in-law, Linda Fraley; Donna Coffman and her husband Jim; and Louise Crawford and her husband Curt, complete his family, along with his beloved grand dog, Zoey.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved Australian Shepherd, Ginger Gem.
Dale graduated from Philippi High School and played on their only undefeated football team in 1960. He retired after 37 years from Union Carbide, where he was a laborer and for his last 5 years was a control room operator.
He was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and was a member of Late Lodge No. 63, A.F. & A.M., Bridgeport.
He loved fishing with his buddies, Donald Kniceley and Steve Losh. He also loved hunting, especially with his muzzleloader, and working on his farm.
Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Wednesday from 2 – 6 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, with Reverend Gary Reed presiding. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery.
