Kendra Lee (Nicholas) Browning, 72, of Bridgeport, West Virginia, entered eternal life on June 14, 2026 after a brief battle with cancer. Kendra was a devoted wife, loving mother, and faithful servant of God. She was a woman of deep conviction who made her faith known not through words alone, but through the way she lived each day. Kendra’s faith was the cornerstone of her life.
She was born on October 19, 1953, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1971. She worked in an administrative capacity at United Hospital Center and Consolidated Natural Gas, then as a pharmacy technician at Rite Aid before retiring in 2015.
Kendra was a member Saltwell Road Church. Her study of the Word was not simply a practice, it was a passion. She held close at all times notecards on which were written her favorite scriptures. She loved her bible study group and looked forward to going every week. She enjoyed watching old movies and completing puzzles. Kendra carried a quiet but unmistakable passion for politics and current events, and was never short of a thoughtful perspective at the table. She mostly loved spending time with her daughters, and her favorite times were when, “All my girls are under one roof.” Though her time with her grandson, Miles, was brief, she loved him fiercely from his very first days. The role of “Nonnie” she played in his life, however short, was one she embraced with her whole heart.
She is survived by her husband, Duane Browning of Bridgeport; her daughters, Jenny (Fox) Miller and son-in-law Jeff Miller of Columbus, Ohio; Megan (Fox) Hill of Bridgeport; and Natalie Fox of Bridgeport; her beloved grandson, Miles Alexander Miller; her stepson, Tyler Browning of West Berlin, New Jersey; her brother, Patrick Nicholas and his wife Rose of Clarksburg; her mother-in-law, Miriam Browning of Bridgeport; her children’s father, Ronnie Fox and his wife Donna Fox of Bridgeport; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth “Nick” and Thelma Nicholas, and her father-in-law, Donald D. Browning.
Kendra loved deeply and lived purposefully. She will be remembered as a woman of grace, conviction, unshakable faith, and a mother’s love that knew no bounds. Those who knew her best, know she heard those words she had always lived toward — “well done, good and faithful servant”.
