Robert “Bob” James Saffle, 65, of Bridgeport, passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2026, in Mon General Hospital. He was born in Atlanta, GA, on January 17, 1961, a son of the late Richard Howard Saffle, and Ella Jean (McElroy) Saffle, who survives in Bridgeport.
In addition to his mother, he is also survived by two daughters, Jennifer Wright and her husband Andrew of Inwood, WV; and Miranda Saffle of Clarksburg; and his grandchildren, Delaney, Andrew, Charlotte, Miara, and Zaiden. Two brothers, Howard Paul Saffle and his wife Vickie of Bridgeport; and Richard Allen Saffle of Bridgeport; and two nephews, Matthew and Richard complete his family.
Bob was a graduate of Bridgeport High School. He was a chef at Oliverio’s Restaurant, and worked at American Legion Post 68 after his retirement. He was a Steelers fan and enjoyed fishing, camping, cookouts and bonfires. He was an adventurous person, including enjoying Black Water Falls and hanging out with friends.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026, with Bishop Cecil Welch presiding. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
