Robert James Bockmier, 78, of Shinnston, passed away on February 18, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on October 16, 1947, a son to the late Wilfred Bockmier and Irene Lindermoth.
He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Shirley Bockmier, whom he married May 8, 1971; and his son Alan Bockmier.
Robert served in the US Navy and worked various construction jobs and was a handyman. He was Catholic by faith. He enjoyed watching football, especially the Buffalo Bills, and volunteering for the Italian Heritage Festival.
Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 2:00PM-8:00PM. Per his wishes, cremation will follow. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
