Donley (Don) H. Smith, Jr., of Shinnston, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, in the United Hospital Center. He was born in Shinnston on August 27, 1947, a son of the late Donley H. and Jessie Coffman Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Stackhouse) Smith, whom he married on June 18, 1966.
Don is survived by his children, Donley H III and his wife Wendy; Gary Joseph and his children, Nathan and his wife Kayla; and Carrie and her husband Joseph Holmes; and Cindy Knotts and her husband Gary, and their children, Dustin and Megan Knotts, and daughter McKenna. He is also survived by his special great-granddaughter, Nora Jean Knotts.
Don had worked in the coal industry and finished up his working years in the oil and gas fields.
As per his wishes, no visitation or services will be held.
